Morning Commute

Frosty morning debate brings out fall jackets with cool concrete beneath sandals as a sign of resistance to the gradual transition of the seasons. All is quiet on the platform except for an occasional sip from an environmentally conscious travel cup and the swoosh of the building doors. A break in the hushed silence brought about by the mystery voice issuing a warning that there is a train approaching and to “please stand behind the yellow line” gives way to shuffling feet, grunts as bags are brought up on shoulders and sighs let out as the morning commute begins.
